On Monday, in Luce County Circuit Court, Corey Wass pleaded guilty to second-degree child abuse.
Iris Wass, who is only 3-years-old, was attacked by a 120 pound Rottweiler. She had cuts and abrasions over 95 percent of her body. At least two of the 11 dog bites went through to the bone.

When she arrived at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor she was admitted in critical condition and had to have dirt vacuumed from her lungs. She has had 3 surgeries to remove infected skin.

The incident occurred on January 4, while she was visiting her father at her grandmother's home. It appears that Mr. Wass took a long nap in the afternoon. Iris managed to get through 2 back doors and outside to an area where 3 Rottweilers were tied up. She was eventually found by a neighbor. It has been estimated that she was outside with the Rottweilers for an hour. Her father was unaware of her whereabouts. When she was found, her clothing was scratched off, and she was found unconscious with the dog chain around her neck and body, police said.
