Little did the city of Savannah know about Michael Berkow. It seems that Berkow left Los Angeles to become the police chief in Savannah Georgia.

What was not known in Savannah is that their new Chief had been involved in a lawsuit, which accused him of sexual impropriety.

The story is that Berkow admitted to having an affair with a subordinate officer. At the time of the affair he was separated from his wife. He claimed that the affair was carried out off-duty and there was no job misconduct as far as he is concerned. Ironically, Berkow ran the Los Angeles bureau charged with rooting out officer misconduct.
