Salmonella Found in Cadbury's Chocolate

The United Kingdom is apparently dealing with a salmonella outbreak of their own. It has been reported that more than one million chocolate bars have already been removed from shelves in the UK as a result of salmonella contamination. The cause of the presence of salmonella in the case of Cadbury's choclate factory in Herefordshire was a leaking pipe. According to a spokesperson for Cadbury Schweppes the recall of seven types of their choclate products is nothing more than a precautionary measure. It seems that a rare strain of salmonella known as salmonella Montevideo was found after samples of the choclate were sent to an independent laboratory.

A company spokesperson stated that people should not be alarmed if they have eaten any of the following products, which were found to have salmonella and accordingly, were on the recall list: Cadbury Dairy Milk Turkish 250g; Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel 250g; Cadbury Dairy Milk Mint 250g; Cadbury Dairy Milk 8 chunk; Cadbury Dairy Milk 1kg; Cadbury Dairy Milk Button Easter Egg 105g; Cadbury Freddo 10p. According to the company, levels of contamination are well below danger levels.
