New Era Canning Company of New Era, Michigan has announced a recall on beans. The specific beans include Mexican style chili beans, green beans, and dark red kidney beans.

It is believed the beans were not adequately cooked and as a result have the potential for the growth of Clostridium botulinum, which can cause botulism. The symptoms of botulism are as follows: "General weakness, dizziness, double-vision and trouble speaking or swallowing. Difficulty in breathing, weakness of other muscles, abdominal distension and constipation may also be common symptoms."
