One would hope at this stage of the game we are all aware of the absolute importance of wearing a seat belt while traveling in a motor vehicle. The difference it makes in an accident cannot be overstated.

According to the Kentucky State Police, thirteen people died in thirteen accidents on roadways in thirteen Kentucky counties last week. Out of the thirteen victims, ten were in cars and four of the ten were not wearing seat belts. It is currently unknown whether the other six were wearing seat belts.

One of the Kentucky fatalities was the result of a motorcycle accident involving a driver without a helmet. A good helmet is never a bad idea when using a motorcycle. Four of the Kentucky accidents involved the use of alcohol. The holiday season is upon us, which means an increase in accidents is to be expected. Be safe out there, and watch out for the other guy.
