Did you know that a child who is not in a safety seat is 10 times more likely to die in an automobile accident than a child who is. A recent study showed that to be the case.

The study concentrated on children who were six years or younger, which is the age group that is mandated by law to use a safety seat while riding in an automobile. There were more than 12 thousand automobile accidents studied, and the statistics were clear. In fact, "The agency checked 12,113 accidents and found that three out of 7,506 children who were sitting in safety seats died, while 18 of 4,607 children who were not strapped into safety seats were killed. The death rate for children not using a safety seat was 0.39 percent, 9.8 times higher than children who had safety seats." So, use the safety seats each and every time.
